The ACM CHI Conf. on Human Factors in Computing Systems will be in Vancouver. A $10 event on May 10th lets you see the Buxton Collection of Interactive Devices, the Interactivity exhibits, the video submissions, and the work in progress posters.

The ACM CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems, the premier international conference of human-computer interaction, is coming to Vancouver in May. CHI 2011 (www.chi2011.org) focuses on leveraging our diversity and connecting people, cultures, technologies, experiences, and ideas. Are you curious about the field of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and want to learn more? Too busy to attend the entire conference? Come check out a "Taste of CHI":

What: ACM Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems “Taste of CHI 2011”. Several conference venues will be open to Taste of CHI attendees on the evening of Tuesday, May 10th:

· The Bill Buxton Collection of Interactive Devices (www.chi2011.org/program/buxton.html). First shown at the Vancouver Art Gallery in 2004, the collection documents the history of pen computing, pointing devices, touch technologies, and illustrates the nature of how new technologies emerge.

· “Future of Interfaces” interactive exhibits ((http://chi2011.org/pr.... State of the art technology exhibits that you can come see, touch, and experience.

· CHI Videos (http://chi2011.org/pr.... Come see content that leaps off the page: vision videos, reflective pieces, humor, novel interfaces, studies, and anything else that is a good match for the moving image and relevant to HCI. Best videos will be awarded the Golden Mouse award. Free popcorn and drinks.

· Works-in-progress Posters (http://www.chi2011.or.... Concise posters describing innovative or thought-provoking work relevant to the CHI community. This is a unique opportunity for sharing valuable ideas, providing useful feedback on early-stage work, and fostering discussions and collaborations among colleagues.
