The Ties That Bind: Day Kirby
The Ties That Bind is a remarkable internet documentary about disability, family, isolation and citizenship. It is one of the most ambitious projects of its kind. It combines interactive storytelling, online community support and extremely high standards of accessibility and usability. Veteran designer Day Kirby shared his experience working on the project, and touched on many related topics such as the W3C’s emerging accessibility standards, innovative ways to design for usability and the future of internet documentaries. This presentation was designed for anyone with the desire to create unusual, engaging experiences in a time of emerging accessibility standards.
